Napoli Rejects €70m Bid for Osimhen from Galatasaray

Napoli has formally declined Galatasaray’s latest bid of €70 million for striker Victor Osimhen. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Galatasaray’s offer was backed with bank guarantees, but club president Aurelio De Laurentiis has insisted on receiving the full €75 million release clause, as reported by Punch and Guardian Nigeria.

Despite Galatasaray’s interest, their proposal didn’t meet Napoli’s valuation, which demands a lump-sum payment, either upfront or with legally enforceable assurances. Romano noted that Napoli received formal documentation alongside the offer, yet deemed it insufficient.

The rejection comes amid heightened speculation about Osimhen’s future, with links to Saudi clubs like Al Hilal, who reportedly signaled interest with a similar €70–€75 million package, but were also turned away by Napoli.

Osimhen, who helped Napoli secure the Serie A title in 2023 and enjoyed a prolific loan spell at Galatasaray during the 2024–25 season, signed a contract extension in December 2023. His release clause currently stands at €75 million.

With the summer transfer window still unfolding, Napoli continues to hold out for full payment, likely preferring an immediate payout rather than installments. The ball remains in Galatasaray’s court, or potentially that of other interested clubs willing to meet Napoli’s strict terms.
