Eddie Hassell, best known for his recurring role on the NBC sci-fi series ‘Surface‘ and in the Oscar-nominated 2010 film ‘The Kids Are All Right,’ has been shot dead in Texas. Hassell, 30, was shot on Sunday morning at around 1 am outside his girlfriend’s apartment in Grand Prairie, according to VARIETY.
According to his representative, he was shot in what appeared to be a carjacking incident. The police in a statement said they are investigating the incident and that the motive for the attack is yet to be established.
Hassel, a native of Texas, started acting from his late teens and had several small roles during the 2000s and 2010s. His most renowned work remains ‘The kids are All Right,’ where he starred along with Julianne Moore and Mark Ruffalo. The film was nominated for the best picture Academy Award in 2011.
