Southampton Requests Mike Dean And Lee Mason Not To Officiate Games

Southampton suffered a humiliating defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford in their last game. Southampton has petitioned that referee Mike Dean does not preside over their upcoming matches and will appeal against the red card awarded to defender Jan Bednarek in their 9-0 loss to Manchester United.

Premier League clubs are unqualified of officially requesting that individual referees do not precede their games. Still, it is understood that Professional Game Match Officials Limited will contemplate certain factors when making match fixtures.
Arsenal’s boss also has some petition on the quality of decisions by referees on the clubs game. It is worthy of note that the Brazil defender David Luiz was sent off after “tripping” the Wolves United forward.

Referee Dean initially only awarded a spot-kick to Manchester United but sent off Bednarek after being mandated to watch replays of the incident on the pitchside monitor by video assistant referee (VAR) Graham Scott.

Poland centre-back Bednarek, 24, claimed that “Martial said it’s not a foul” as he made his way out of the pitch before the hosts went on to secure a record-equalling Premier League win.
