Famous Indian actress VJ Chithra, was found hanging in a hotel room during the early hours of Wednesday, December 9. The 28-year-old actress allegedly committed suicide in her hotel room in Nazarethpettai, Chennai.
Chitra is known for portraying Mullai in the hit Vijay TV series, Pandian Stores and the Indian television series, Tamil. Recently, she got engaged to Chennai based businessman Hemanth, just about a few months ago.
News agency ANI informed the same in a tweet and mentioned;
“TV actress VJ Chitra found dead at a hotel in the outskirts of Chennai, this morning. Police is ascertaining the cause of death. Her body recovered and sent for autopsy. Investigation underway”.
According to Hemanth, who was with her in the Hotel, Chitra returned to her hotel room at about 2:30 am after shooting at EVP Film City.
In his statement to the police, Hemanth reported that Chitra told him she is going for a bath soon after returning to the room. However, she didn’t come out for long, and neither responded when he knocked at the door. Hemanth then called the hotel staff, and when they opened the door with a duplicate key, she was reportedly found hanging from the ceiling fan.
Apart from being a popular TV actress, VJ Chitra was also a TV presenter and one of the Tamil TV industry’s most-loved faces.
